A Japanese Peace Lily is a very easy to grow indoor plant and in the correct, partially shaded position, will grow quickly.
Instead of regular repotting the plant can be split fairly easily.
- Remove plant from it’s pot.
- Examine the plant’s stems – each stem is effectively a different plant and can be split at this point. A healthy peace lily could be split in to twenty separate plants, although you may choose to keep several together.
- Gently force the stems apart, ensuring the roots are separated without too much damage – a sharp knife can be used if necessary.
- Replant each stem, or group of stems into a new pot with fresh compost. Do not feed the plants until new growth is observed.
